For the first time in forever (cue the music), I’m actually going to have enough time to celebrate some St. Patrick’s Day fun in downtown Indy! I’ve been a little worker bee the past few years throughout all of the festivities, but not this time! I’m going to brave whatever germs might be out there, but because a lot of these activities are outdoors…I’m not too worried! Since I’m going out and about, I’m listing some activities that I’ve loved in the past and am hoping to check out this weekend and next week!

The Greening of the Canal

I’m sad to miss this particular element of St. Patrick’s Day downtown, but it’s a doozy! Access the canal near the corner of West & Ohio Streets and you’ll see a crowd gathering JUST to turn the canal green. There’s always music and food trucks nearby as well! It starts at 5pm on Thursday, March 12th and it’s free! Plan to Uber over, or give yourself some time to park and walk!

St. Puprick’s Yappy Hour

I SO WISH I could go to this event, but I’m already committed elsewhere! I think this sounds like the greatest kick-off to St. Patrick’s Day in downtown Indy! Bring your pups to Nine Irish Brothers on Mass Ave after work to raise funds for Paws & Think! Drink a beer, bid on the silent auction items, and have some St. Patrick’s Day fun that does some good at the same time.

40th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Did you even know there was a parade downtown? I find that a lot of people don’t know there is a parade on St. Patrick’s Day! It’s always fun to check out! Starting at North & Pennsylvania Streets at 11:30am on Friday, March 13th, they’ll have a variety of floats, Irish dancers, bands, balloons, and more! If you got the kids, this is a great all-ages event.

23rd Annual Indianapolis Downtown Irish Fest

On actual St. Patrick’s Day, if you can get the time off work, The Rathskeller hosts a huge Irish festival every year that is always exciting! The live music runs basically all afternoon and into the evening! There’s no cover charge and did I mention they serve REAL Irish food during this festival!? That’s enough for me!

And now…a St. Patrick’s Day Giveaway!

I’ve connected with some other bloggers to giveaway some lucky cash prizes for St. Patrick’s Day! Enter on the Rafflecopter below!
