Dear Readers – A Letter to You

Hello Dear Friends,

I’ve been away. That’s obvious. I didn’t go far (thanks for that, RONA), but life got away from me as it often does. With a global pandemic basically obliterating the year and all of the cool things I had on the books, I’ve been doing a lot of different work over here.

Then, because I like brevity, I’m breaking it down into parts. Easy to follow and straight to the point.

The What

I’ve wanted to write and create for my own projects lately, but I’ve been lucky (or unlucky – depends on how you look at it) to be so booked with other people’s content, stories, and other work. I’m one person, so clearly, some things got neglected. I’ve got OOOOODLES of half-written blog posts in my drafts folder, a handful of brand collabs to complete, and not enough hours in the day. While this venue may have gone dark (too soon, theatre people?), the lights are coming back on soon.

As the world continues to come back slowly, my blog and social projects are beginning to find their way back to the forefront of my mind and calendar. Many projects were stalled and put on hold by clients, but projects are getting put back on the calendar as things are slowly re-opening. As theatre and events remain so much in limbo for the foreseeable future, I’m in a unique position that I hadn’t planned on being in at this point in the year. Now that I’m working 100% remotely, for the time being, there’s been some great things lined up that I can’t wholly share yet, but it’s all positive.

The Why

I’ve thought A LOT about why this blog exists and why people visit my blog and social media channels. When I look at the analytics, I’m always surprised about what’s brought people my way. I’ll tell you – posts about Indianapolis, travel, Tinder, and summer camps. This makes me laugh, a lot. Especially the Tinder bit. I’m glad that people find value in some of the things I create. Therefore, I plan to keep on sharing.

The How

So I think this is an excellent way for me to talk about how things could change around here in the coming months – at least for the rest of 2020

I love sharing what I know about adventuring, experiences, food, and travel, but I want this to be a better resource for my fellow adventurers who:

  • Love to explore their local communities!
  • Prefer experiences over stuff.
  • Love the arts, culture, and education.
  • Love to take short getaways – bonus points if they’re budget-friendly!
  • Appreciate both big city & small-town life.
  • Want to try new foods & unique products.
  • Want to make a positive change in their communities.

That’s my goal for the future here. KelseeBHankins.com has been a home for many things, but it’s almost fall – so a new season awaits! 🙂

If you’ve made it this far, leave me a comment! Let me know what you’re working on this fall!
