Camp is over, and I’m back home in Indy, so it’s time for me to round up what I packed for camp this year! I always pack the standard items (and you can see what must-have items I recommend), but I always try to share a few different things that come in handy throughout my time out at summer camp.
It was another fantastic summer out in Fryeburg, Maine, teaching drama, writing, and going on trips! Now that I’m back, I’m excited to share more things I purchased or packed for camp this summer!

Without further ado, here’s some of what I packed for Summer ’22!
Wireless Bluetooth Karaoke Microphone with LED Lights
This microphone thing was just fun and super useful – especially for skits, campfires, and making announcements in a close area. When other technology went out around camp, this definitely came in handy. I’d totally recommend for camp staff to have these for emergencies or activities. It was definitely more useful than I thought!
Waterproof Phone Pouch
I’ve had one of these pouches forever…but I never took it to camp! And now, I don’t think I’ll ever go back without one. You’re often on the water, playing in the water, getting splashed by something, and you don’t want to worry about your phone! GAMECHANGER.
Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Liquid Soap
I personally LOVE this stuff, especially for camp! Uh oh, you need dish soap, and there’s none nearby? This works! Uh oh, you need some laundry detergent real quick? This works! Uh oh, ran out of body wash/shampoo/face wash? THIS WORKS! Need hand soap? Floor cleaner? Need to spray your plants for bugs? LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
Color Pens
Again, something I love having close by at camp! Plus, if you take a pack of your own pens, you won’t need to run to an art center or office to borrow. Saved my life on numerous occasions.
Clipboard with Storage
Again, a game changer! I always find myself running around at camp with a stack of paper, scripts, a pen, and other random things since camp isn’t always the most digital environment. I like clipboards like these, so I don’t have to worry about important papers flying away or getting wet.
Passion Planner
Really, any type of planner would do – this is just my preferred one! I love this one because I can see everything and plan everything down to the day/hour. Plus, this is the type of planner that I use year-round and recommend to everyone!
Heavy Duty Cotton Canvas Tote Bag
I use this type of bag as a purse/everyday bag when I’m in the wilderness of summer camp. I have a typical grocery tote that I carry some stuff in at camp from building to building, but you can get those everywhere. This bag can withstand storage in weird places, keeps important items safe, and holds a lot of stuff!
OlimpiaFit Quick Dry Towels
I love these! They are basically the best towels for camp! You can take them to the gym, to yoga, to the lake, to the pool, or even use them as your shower towel. They are machine-washable and they pack SO WELL since they aren’t bulky. They come in a variety of sizes and colors, too!
Philosophy Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath
This stuff is amazing! I’m a big fan of multiple-use toiletries. The fewer bottles I have to pack up and deal with, the better for me! I love this brand because the products come in DELICIOUS scents, and I really like the quality! Plus, they make a variety of other facial and body products.
